Apparently Cass does want to spend the entire time staring at the coffee machine. The sticky bun rests forgotten (and woefully uneaten) in her hand as she leans forward intently.

Every so often her nose twitches as she inhales the aroma of the brewing beverage. It smells just like she remembers.
